Recently I've become more obsessed with craft blogs. Yes, I know. I've always been obsessed with blogs ever since before this one. Now, I'm on a craft blog kick.
I have 69 blog subscriptions on my RSS. Please send help.

I'm feeling inspired and crafty. I love seeing what other people are making and admire their handiwork. It's incredible!
Recently I saw this post from googiemomma (posted on CraftGossip). She made this ruffled tank top from 2 tanks she purchased for less than $1 each at Old Navy.
My kind of craft.
So, I did it.
I bought 2 t-shirts at Old Navy (they were having the take an additional 40% off of clearance items) for $2.39 each.
They kinda looked like this except they have a v-neck in front. I had to take a picture of the back of the finished shirt because I forgot to take before pictures. Lame, I know.
I pulled out my laptop and watched 30 Rock while I did this last night. Have you watched 30 Rock before? It makes me laugh. A lot. Especially if I have people to watch it with, not that I don't laugh out loud when I'm by myself, but sometimes I'll catch myself laughing and then I look at Hank like "did you see that?!?!?!" then I realize I'm talking to my cat. He doesn't speak people. Nor does he laugh.
I cut, I sewed, I ruffled, I attached and BAM! This is how it came out:
CUTE.
CUTE.
CUTE. If I do say so myself.
I also lengthened the sleeves, I don't know who decided all shirts should have cap sleeves, but they should be punched in the face. In a completely non-violent way of course.
Now, I don't know that I should actually be wearing ruffles on my chest. It's not like I need any assistance in the boobage area, but I still like it.
What have you been up to? Send me a picture of your latest creative project and I'll post it right here. Did you knit a cozy scarf? crochet an afghan? weave a tapestry? sew a cat sweater? take a picture of something beautiful? embroider a hankie? make a pretty card? It's braggin' time.
Shoot me an email by next Monday (11/8). If you don't know my email, just ask. We're all friends here.
Very cute and I totally agree with you on the sleeve issue.
ReplyDeleteI also watched 30 Rock on Saturday while I was sewing curtains and clipping dogwood branches for fall decorating!
ReplyDeleteif I wear what i made tomorrow, will you take a picture?
ReplyDeleteHave Aunt Suze send you the pictures of the cards she made.....before she sends them out. She got her craft on! =-) Love you! P.S. Cute shirt--from the front the ruffles don't look like too much.
