from around the interwebs [giveaway]

-->Oooh, love this from Freeplaylife Challenge. How true is that? How hard is that??

-->This list of The 10 Best Fictional Boyfriends has inspired me to write my own because I don't actually know who half those men are. Here is my list:

8. I'll stick with Thought Catalog and go with Ron Weasley. Both because I love Ron and I love the gingers.
7. Captain Georg von Trapp. He's becomes strict and rigid after his wife died. He doesn't know how to show his children how much he loves them. I love that he can open his heart to them and be a loving father. Anything hotter than a man who loves his children?
6. Wesley from The Princess Bride: funny, smart, loyal. "As you wish." Any man says that to me, I'm smitten.
5. Jim Halpert from The Office I love his sense of humor even though watching The Office makes me uncomfortable.
4. Capitan Li Shang from Mulan only because Donny Osmond does his singing. *sigh* We've talked about my love for the Donny's voice, right?
3. Brian Kelly from Something New, if you haven't seen this you must. Brian is practically perfect and it doesn't hurt that he looks like that.
2. Fiyero from Wicked, he chooses based on her heart not her looks! WHAT?!?! He defies authority [which he's part of] to protect Elphaba. He also gives up normal life to be with her.
1. Gilbert Blythe from Anne of Green Gables. Duh. If I have to explain how Gil and Anne's love has messed me up since I read the books in 4th grade, you don't even know me.

-->I need this for Hank:

-->This is my friend and she's doing a 31 Day Challenge. She's like a for-real writer who is incredibly brave to write about her life. Go read her stuff.

-->For those of you who feel shame and intimidation when it comes to exercising with all those sports-bra-wearing women and six-pack-ab-toting men read this: Hey, Fat Girl. When it comes to running I'm all over this...on both sides. Not that I'd ever wear a sports bra alone or will ever have a non-insulated abdomen.

-->Just for kicks and giggles, and since I'm listening to it for the first time *rightnow*, I'm going to give away a digital copy of Mumford & Sons new album Babel. [The regular album, not the deluxe one.] I'm quite pleased with it thus far and you need to share in my love for their music.

To enter the giveaway just tell me something awesome you've seen around the internets as of late. OR just say "HI!" OR tell me your favorite fictional boyfriend or girlfriend. Choose what is more appealing to you. (-:
One entry per person, I'll choose a winner on Sunday, Oct. 7 so comment before I get around to doing that, OK?

love you people,
amy

  1. Sevenly - This is my newest obsession. It is a website that does cause t-shirts, hoodies, tote bags and so on. Each week they have a new cause and they sell the goods for the week giving a share of the profit to the organization that are building awareness for during the week. It increases both funding and awareness for the organization. So awesome!

  2. Several things...First of all Gilbert Blythe has been a crush/boyfriend/dream of mine for as long as I can remember. At least as long as from when I first read Anne of Green Gables many years ago.

Second, I've been obsessed with Alabama Chanin for quite some time and started following her blog or Journal as it is called on the web site. This particular entry [http://alabamachanin.com/journal/2012/09/little-houses/#more-22651] was really inspiring to me. I also like the occasional recipes and stories that are told. Her clothing is beautiful and inspiring too.

And finally I love Mumford and Sons!

    1. Oh, Gil. *sigh*

I love that. I always struggle with living simply and I love that "William Morris Test." Next time I'm feeling ambitious, I'm going for it!

  3. I have so enjoyed reading a blog called Single Dad Laughing. I'm convinced he and I would be great friends if we knew each other. :) He talks about all kind of different things like being a dad, being single, being a photographer, internet dating. I love the humor in his truth. :)

  4. What! Amy, you are the sweetest for linking to my little series!

So I've been reading a lot of fun stuff on the internet recently, but I am particularly inspired to become a Crazy DIY Woman by these couple websites:

http://ana-white.com - furniture plans that make me want to buy a saw
http://simplehomemade.net - this blog is doing a Sewing School series that makes me want to buy a sewing machine

Also, this is just so fun if you're a Democrat. Probably also fun if you're a Republican with a sense of humor: http://lucilleandmitt.tumblr.com/

    1. Also, he's a husband, not a boyfriend, but COACH ERIC TAYLOR FROM FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS. I'm slightly in love with him. Don't tell Josh.

    2. OK, I'm going to have to watch Friday Night Lights. People keep talking about it and I love sports stuff anyway. I need to do it.

I love all those websites. I want a DIY life where I get paid enough to not worry about paying my bills while living it. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE? OK, I'll just dream about that and continue doing the other things I'm doing.

I don't even know how to properly pronounce "meme" but it is one of my favorite creations on the interwebs. SO FUNNY.

      love you!

  5. Favorite fictional boyfriends: i agree with Jim from the office, Logan thighbolt from the book The Lucky One, Peeta before he gets hijacked and when he looks like he does in my head not the movie, Edward Cullen in the first twilight book. Well actually I like him even better in the partial book midnight sun. I also really like Four/Tobias right now. I could probably go on forever. I'm a sucker for a good love story and I easily forget the bad when the good makes my heart flutter.

    1. I'm totally with you on Four/Tobias. I need to see how book three comes out to fully develop/deny my crush. The tension in Insurgent just about made me want to throw him to the curb. (-:

      ah, love.

speaking of which, i love you!
